Ghee Appam

 All of us love sweets and have our own favourite sweets. There are many common sweets which we buy or make at home. But have you tried the ghee appam .It is a quick  sweet to treat your unexpected guests.This recipe can be made in 20 minutes.And will be loved by young ones to adults.  Ingredients Idli rice - 1 cup Raw rice - 1 cup Urad dal-1/4 cup Feungreek -1 teaspoon Jaggery -1 1/2 cups Grated coconut -3 tablespoons Cardamom -3 Ghee- 3 tablespoons. Method Wash and soak the rice and urad dal for 1 hour.In a blender add rice and urad dal and Feungreek ,pulse the blender in  reverse for  2-3 times ,now add jaggery,coconut and cardamom, blend to a smooth batter.Leave it for 1/2 hour. In a Kadai add ghee and heat  in medium flame till ghee melts. In a spoon put little batter into the Kadai. Spicy Seedai

 Seedai is a crispy snacks made with rice flour. It is especially made on Krishna jayanthi .There are many types of seedai,all might have tried salt seedai .But have you ever tried this spicy seedai.Try this crispy and spicy seedai and serve  with  evening  tea.This Spicy seedai will be a superb tea time snacks. Ingredients Rice flour -1 cup Urad dal flour -2 tablespoons Chilli powder -1 teaspoon Cumin -2 teaspoons Oil for frying  Salt to taste  Method In a wide plate add rice flour, urad dal flour, chilli powder  and cumin and mix well.Add  required water and combine to make  a soft dough.Now make the dough into small balls. The balls should be in the size of a cherry.  The recipe is  an ancient recipe  with lots of health benefits. It also will  satisfy your cravings for sweet. The black  sesame has lots of iron in it. This recipe is made specially on vinayagar chathurthi.Kids will love this to maximum. Try this oil free sweet and give your family a amazing sweety snacks. Ingredients Sesame -1 cup  Jaggery -1/2 cup Grated coconut -4 tablespoons Cardamom - 2 Method  Wash and  sun dry the sesame to remove the dust and husk. In a heavy buttom pan dry roast sesame till the aroma comes. Let it cool completely.Cut  the Jaggery into small pieces. In a blender add roasted  sesame and pulse the blender 2-3 times. Pirandai Thuvaiyal

The days are changing all of us are becoming health conscious.We are trying to be organic.So a best food for our heart is this pirandai.There are different varieties of pirandai green, red, round etc.This is a green plant based food we can use it to make podi,thuvaiyal,chutney etc.It makes our heart functions better, reduces bad cholesterol levels,and also heals gastric problems.This pirandai thuvaiyal is made with simple ingredients .Consume   it and take care of your health.  Ingredients Pirandai-1 cup Garlic -20 cloves  Cumin -1 tablespoon Pepper -2 tablespoons Red chillies - 7-8 Tamarind- a small ball size  Mustard -1 teaspoon Urad dal-1 teaspoon  Hing -1/4 teaspoon  Oil - 3 tablespoons Salt to taste  Note:you can use any type of pirandai. Sweet Pongal

Sweet pongal recepie is a traditional south Indian dish.Its made with rice and Jaggery. This recepie is simple to make for festivals and occasions. I am sure you will  try and  treat your family with mouthwatering and aromatic sweet.  Ingredients Rice -2 cups  Moong dal-1/4 cups Jaggery-1 cup Water  Ghee-3 tablespoons Cahsews-10 Dry grapes-10 Cardomom-3 Method Wash and soak the rice and moong dal for 2 hours. Then in  pressure cooker with 4 cups of water cook it for 3-4 whistles.In a wide bottom pan add Jaggery and 1 cup water and boil till it dissolves and the jaggery syrup comes to double string consistency and thick. At this stage add  cardamom.In a tempering pan add ghee and fry the cashews and dry grapes to golden brown.Now pour the jaggery syrup to the cooked rice and mix well.Pour the tempering over the sweet pongal .The yummy and aromatic sweet pongal is ready to serve.  Sweet pongal
