Sugiyam sweet

Sweets are loved by everyone from kids to adults. We buy sweets from shops or  make different varieties of sweets at home. But this sugiyam is a healthy sweet made with Jaggery and rice. It is traditional sweet  made during festivals. This will satisfy your taste buds craving for sweet.Try it and enjoy the sweet. 
Ingredients
Raw rice -1 cup
Urad dal-1/4 cup
Water - 1 cup
Grated jaggery- 2 cups
Boiled Chana dal-1cup
Grated Coconut -5 tablespoons
Cardamom -2
A pinch of salt 
Oil for frying
Method 
Wash and soak the rice and urad dal for 2-3 hours.Grind it and make a batter .It should be in  the idly batter consistency.
Keep it ready. In a Kadai add water and put the grated jaggery.Boil it till  Jaggery dissolves and the syrup thickens.Add the boiled Chana dal ,coconut and cardamom and mix well to form a dough . In a heavy buttom Kadai add oil.Heat the oil in medium flame till hot.Check the oil if it is in correct temperature by adding a small portion of dough. If it comes out without browning the oil is in correct temperature.Now make a small ball from the dough and dip in to the rice batter. The batter should coat the dough fully.Add them to the hot oil, you can add 4-5 at a batch  and cook in medium flame till golden brown.Trasfer to a plate or colander.Fry the remianing  batches in the same manner.  Serve the hot yummy sugiyam as a evening snacks.
